ah ah don't be scared, since so many of you voted that I should keep Sera as my main, I will do that ^^I wouldn't have left her behind or anything in any case, don't worry ^^
but I started working on this yesterday, and today I wanted to give it some colors ^^
the other girl would have been my idea for this year's mascot, I've had her appearance in mind for a while ^^
I wanted a fairy with mint, pulled back hair with buns XD

Choosing the colors and palettes are one of my fave parts when I make art in Winx style ^^ Pleasing the eyes is one of my priorities ^^

You are really good at pleasing the eyes of your followers with your pretty art. I think your priority of doing so is making your art even better because you always put so much love and effort into it. It's fascinating. :')
I usually try pretty hard to finish what I want to do but lately I had a pretty hard time that made things difficult, especially my ability to focus on my stuff suffered a lot. But luckily I'm getting better and Ideas are reaching my brain every day, it feels amazing. x)
Sometimes it's hard to keep the line between contrasts, especially when using different shades of the same color but hey, you are very good at it. ^-^
Yes, it is a original idea.. at least I hope so.. :3 I'm really into complex stories ever since I tried to do stuff in anime style.. I wanted to give her a less 'royal'background to develope her character in a mature way instead of giving her a wealthy and rich family who is able to give her everything she wants and completely turning her into a spoiled damsel in distress..
And I just don't have figured it out yet how the 'becoming an angel' thing should work. I just thought there could be a legend of a fairy who turned into an angel... Kailani will probably love to explore this kind of legend for sure because she'll already be deeply connected to some angelic beings on her journey... ^///^
But for now it's still the beta version of a beta version of her new story but it makes me very happy that you like it so far and that you don't mind about her being connected with holy stuff and things. X3
and about your last sentence I was just like: 'omg that could work very well!', since I'm not that far with her story just yet, I could totally imagine it to be a very adorable thing. It also could help me to develope her even more but that's something we should probably talk about via notes or something (if you are interested in this Idea of course)

Mhm, I'm all for pleasing the eye first of all ^^ I love colors so I use them the best I can ^^
I think that if I have to work with similar shades of the same color, I increase the contrast manually to differentiate them better...or otherwise change one of the hues because if they're too similar to each other, it's not worth having two of them.
I had actually thought of making a mini tutorial on how choosing the best colors for Winx palettes, because sometimes for commissions I have to work with some palettes in which base, shade and line colors are too similar and I'm like..."Ugh, gotta stress the differences" XD
I think I never heard of a priestess in any Winx OC, so that's already a good thing ^^ And I think it would offer more ways to explore her character, rather than sticking the overused princess tropes ^^
Mmm, I can imagine her with a book or scroll with images of the legend...or something like that x3 But it's a good initial plot ^^ Go for it!
I don't certainly own the concept of holy, so it's really not a problem XD also because Sera's not really an angel in the common sense of the word? Like, she's a mix of fairy and angel? XD I don't even know exactly how it works XD

You don't even know how happy I am that you say this! I always think about the best way to develope my characters..
It's pretty hard for me to write anything fitting for my babies since I'm just always careful of what I do with my oCs. I prefer to ask twice if I can do certain things with my characters. It became a kinda bad behaviour of mine since some people said hurtful things about my girl.. I guess I'm a bit paranoid xD
So thank you for your encouragement, it helped me a lot already. ^w^
Also if you need help with your sera, feel free to ask me. My english might be not that good but I think I can still help with Ideas.
The idea with sera being a mix of angel and fairy is really, really great and unique, just btw. Maybe her father or mother could be some angelic life form or something.. I don't know if you ever watched supernatural but there are creatures who are called nephilim. They are half angel, half human but I think that could work with fairies as well. :3
about that angelic besties thing: I think this Idea has a lot of potential and could really help us developing our girls and their stories. We should really talk about that.. x)
And about that discord thing: at the moment I have neither discord or skype or any other chat program but I think discord is a good idea for the future. I will create an account when I'm back home on sunday. ^^

Oh, I know what Nephilims are from a book series ^^ But I think she's more on the angelic side...one of the ideas I had was that those of her species are born from light, or when magic meets something holy...and her "parents" would only be two other Angel fairies who took care of her upbringing...just one of the possible versions ^^

Criticism is a good thing if it's done right. There is always room for improvement, not only drawing wise. :') I'm proud of every little inprovement I made thanks to constructive criticism as well as being proud of the improvement of any of you because seeing your progress makes me feel really happy too.. :'D
Btw I find your Idea for Sera pretty nice and very unique. I think it will fit her, so if you want to go this route with her developement, just do it! It's really fitting and interesting as well.. I still have to come up with Kai's background story and everything but maybe they could be connected by these holy powers in some ways.. Kailani would probably admire your girl like crazy because of her connection to holy magic in general. :'D
But I don't want to talk too much. XD My baby is barely developed just yet but talking about this and forming Ideas really helps me to define everything about her. I have this urge to draw her a decent design.. xD I really hope we can talk about this on discord soon.~

I'm really falling in love with this style again.. People judging over tiny waists and legs twice as long as the torso.. I did that too tbh but I probably go back to this style sooner or later even though maybe I will add some changes.. your style and some others showed me how well this could work. It became such a big inspiration souce to me, it's super exciting.

I never really cared about people judging this style. I always liked the poses, and I don't know why but I especially liked the way legs were drawn XD Even if they're all geometrical and not anatomically correct XD I think it's a good starting point to develop a style to draw female bodies, maybe changing some proportions here and there 8D
