My pony, Dawn Whisper. Here's her quick backstory.. Thing.

Dawn Whisper had always been extraordinarily shy. She was that one filly who would sit off to the sidelines when all the other ponies were playing games, a paintbrush and canvas at her side. Dawn would paint whenever she got the chance; at lunch, in the middle of a movie, ...sleeping, but she was never satisfied with what she painted. The colors were never right, and she just couldn't make the images she envisioned come to life on the paper.

On the night of the summer solstice, though, she decided to paint in a new environment. Dawn headed towards the lake out a mile or so from her house, and set up her easel on the dock. It was late at night, very late, and she strained to see her canvas. The sun began to rise, though, and the way it glistened just over the surface of the lake took her by surprise.

Dawn gasped as the sun rose, hitting every little blade of grass nearby with its warm rays. She found it beautiful, but... something wasn't right. She sat thinking, at the edge of the dock, her tail swooshing over the top of the water. As she shifted, her tail touched the water and she jumped. It was icy cold and when she stood up, little droplets of water flew everywhere. Dawn blinked in confusion, and then smiled as the droplets of water landed on the blades of grass- catching the morning ray's in a breathtaking glimmer of light.
Standing up, Dawn began to sprint through the field. The water flew off of her tail, gracing every blade of grass with its own tiny gem. It was then that her Cutie Mark appeared- a rising sun with a paintbrush in the middle.

Dawn went out every morning from that day on, dusting every last little plant with a fine coat of dew. She was discovered sneaking out once by her father, though, and she was terrified by how he would react. She knew she was disobeying him by sneaking out every morning. But, when her father saw what she had been doing, he praised her endlessly. Being an inventor and having a talent for metalworking, her father fashioned her a pair of wings that she could use to make her job easier.

AND THAT'S HOW EQUEASTRIA WAS MADE.
