I made this drawing for the KingRichardArmitage.rgcwp.com[link]
As you can guess it is Richard Armitage aka King Richard III. Once he said that he wants to make a film about this historical person and I think (as well as many other people) that he'd be able to do a really very accurate and thrilling film.
As a reference for my drawing I took a picture of Boromir from "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers". You can notice that his armours look familiar to Boromir's. But of course I changed some details. The stamping on his cuirass is the emblem of the House of York; fleur-de-lis (king’s lily) on his shoulder. And the banner he is holding is the personal banner of Richard III which he borne at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485. It is a swallow-tailed pennant with the cross of St. George at the hoist, the fly divided blue over red, with a white boar and white roses (of York) over all.
Original size of this drawing is 15 x 21 cm.
Tools: practically all kinds of pencils from 4H to 9B.

Wow, Daria! I expected something really exciting when you gave us a sneak peak of this work in progress on facebook but this is fantastic!!! I love the expression of materials in this drawing. The metal of the armour, the chain mail underneath and the leather of the glove are brilliantly executed. And the wonderfully fierce pose. Five golden stars at least, you talented girl

Great thanks! Depicting different materials is really the hardest part. I still have much to practice to draw it right.
It took me 4 or 5 days to make a sketch and then to shade it.

Я изначально думал, что нарисую что-нибудь простенькое, а потом вдруг как на ум эта идея пришла и всё... А Оскал - спасибо Ричарду. Так что пугаться ему нечего - сам так сфоткался
