thanks for this!
I still make sure... so i have sp1 x64 system and i only replaced from system32 folder (not syswow64) with modified one ( sp1 x64 shell32.dll). Anyway, all seems to work with this method^^.

Este tema me encanta, pero tengo un problema, el fondo del Word 2013 se me ve oscuro ahora, hay alguna forma de arreglarlo?

Hi guys! First of all thank you kiko11 for your work, I'm using this, one of your themes and wallpapers and my PC is now looking better than ever!
Here's a modified file ONLY FOR W7 64-bit. This will only change the icons, not the panels (the file posted before moves both panels to the bottom), so this will not change that, only the icons!
I followed your tutorial to change the icons on a clean W7 64-bit shell32.dll, with Restorator. Tell me if it works fine! (worked for me) (not responsible on breaking any machine, use it at you're own risk).

when i download the file, there are four different variations of the shell32.dll file. original x32, sp1 x32, and the same for x64. what exactly does sp1 and orginal mean .. and can i just drag the shell32.dll included in the .rar and replace the old one? i don't quite understand where the replacement icons are located or how to install them. i read through the tutorial document and still don't understand.

(PS: original means not service pack 1)

SaberPeep In reply to taffier [2014-07-04 01:32:35 +0000 UTC]
The four variations are for each version of windows 7. For instance, I have Windows 7 64bit Service Pack 1, so I would go into the folders ~/sp1/x64_sp1/shell32/ and use that shell32.dll (FYI The tutorial document seems to be about a different method and is not relevant.) Just take ownership of your original shell32.dll, make a backup, and replace it with the one from the folders corresponding to your OS version.

Dear Kiko. since you not allowed to modify this, can you add shell32.dll (SP 1 x64) with Details panel on bottom instead of top?

Sorry i don't really get what your saying. Are you able to replace the shell32? Do you have full control of the file? What happens when you replace the file and restart your pc?

Full access is, I renamed the old file and replaced it with a new, in the same folder. After rebooting, no change at all!

i notice the detail panes still affixed to the top rather than the bottom position. Why was this changed if it was only supose to be the icons? :/

Hmm, I'm using Windows 7 64-bit SP1, and I'm using your Oscuro skin (looks great!) and I wanted to get your folder icons by using this, but it doesn't seem to work for me. I put the x64 shell32 in my System32 folder and the x86 one in Sys64WOW but none of the icons changed after I re-booted, I changed and re-named the old ones as well.

It should be working fine!
If you have a 64bit than look in the Chiquis folder for the 64bit dll file and replace it. Restart you pc and done!

Maybe I am just confused with what this does, I was under the impression this file changed the ICONS for the folders that are shown in the Theme Previews, but it looks like it's just those little icons, am I correct?
And do you know where you got those folder icons if so?

givesnofuck In reply to thef1nalhope [2012-03-16 11:21:57 +0000 UTC]
Yes, the dll file only changes the top little icons and not all the windows icons!!
i found the icons here [link] !
