Description
Vast area covered by mangroves near island Zmargdos (Inaccessible coast of island Zmargdos ), Roxellos and Seos in southern Tyrrhenia at planet Artemis led to evolution of several endemic bird species in this habitat. One of them is Violet Dwarf Ibis (Eudocimus violacea) endemic species of Ibis adapted to life in mangroves, where this species use especially periods with low tides for searching of rich food at muddy sea bottom. This species is not so rare like Purple-brown Ibis (Eudocimus lucibrunnea), another Ibis breeding in mangroves of Zmargdos and population of Violet Dwarf Ibis is estimated at level 1500 - 3000 breeding pairs.
