Description I was amused that I got for my art trade partner, since I've worked with her before This is for the fourth Assignment in

Here's what she told me about Retsu :
"He does want love, and he's quickly falling for my main heroine, Yume . Retsu admires and respects her, and wants nothing more than to be happy with her. He worries their future, if there is one, will go up in flames. He wants them to be free of their demons and just exist together. I guess that's his wish, to be free of his dark side so he can love Yume to the fullest and give her a better life."

So this is Retsu with Yume in a forest together looking very happy and peaceful.

Aw this is so adorable!! You did a wonderful job showing Retsu's peaceful wish. I love how you drew the forest around them, giving the piece a feeling of privacy for the two of them alone. This is super cute! I love all the textures and colors on the foliage! The characters are nicely drawn too. For my art trade I also get to draw a couple so I went for hugging too since I haven't really drawn hugs.Β

Like anything that involves more than one character interacting tends to be really rough;; I'm still trying to understand anatomy so I can draw more interesting poses but the going is slow.

Looking at references can really help. Or having a couple of friends get into the pose (I can't tell you how many times I make my daughter or husband hold a pose so I can see how it works )

Yeah, just sometimes I have issues trying to find the kinda pose I'm looking for. I would ask people to pose more often but I'm super shy;; Then when I asked my mom to stand there while I took pictures of her jacket she kept laughing at me and doing over the top poses so I was all "nooo I want a normal reference"

Of course, thanks again for going through the effort to link stuff! I've just been using google images so sometimes I'd get a bunch of search results completely unrelated to what I was looking for. So it's great that I have a solid place to look now!
