Description This is the process I do for working that I apply to all of my digital artworks. On the

steps it result very quick but in real it's very slow...only this character took me three days.

I don't use photo manipulation.

Textures and brushes are created by me.

All the artwork is done with one software: Adobe Photoshop CS4.

You can find the completed artwork here

1) I start with a line art in which I set shadows, character posture and all I need to know for the final work.
However I dont like to do a digital line art but is more quick the process like this
than the traditional one..btw you can find some of my traditional lines here [link]

2-4) After I have placed the shadows I shade these with the smudge tool..I paint-shade,paint-shade...and so on.
For now I dont works on the wings, that I've put on a separate layer, so I can get more control of these after.

5) Once I'm at the step near to the final work, I put the base colors on a separated layer that has as mode "Color" so that I can change the colors when I want. After I zoom at 100% and I start to make details always with the same process(paint and shading)but with a little brush.

6) Now that is very well defined I can put on it textures for the skin,I use three different type of textures on different layers with different modes (multply, soft light, linear light,ecc...) depend on what I need in that situation.I put the textures with the clone stamp tool so that I can paint as I wish and where I want.

7) I do this process on all the body and I do this also for the objects with their right textures, all depend on what I need. When it's ready I do Color Balance and it's finished.

This is all.

Im happy to answer to evry kind of questions you have.

Ciao : )

In this case no, I ve colored on the layer with "color" method. But if the artwork has more colors ,as an environment for example, I use more masks
