oh wow this is so awesome XD when you do textures do you use overlay? I'm always hesitant to use textures in my art because they distort the original color.

I know, but the distortion of color just has to happened sometimes- and besides, if you set the right mood with the colors, the slight color changes don't look incorrect, they just seem to amplify the general style and mood.
I usually use multiply or sometimes linear burn or screen.
