Description
I'm home
Though no walls are needed

I'm free
To stray for home

I stray
only from the cold at heart

******

I work in north Tel Aviv, and when I go for lunch (usually late noon, if you must know) I love going to "Azato".
That is a small salad bar on Even Gvirol street. Tasety salads, spicy dressing, fruit juice, nice company... and these beautiful cats sitting right next to me. They found themselves a small corner outside. It use to be fot the resturant accessories (menues, cutlery), but when the manager of the place noticed the cats needed a place, he left them this corner. The became a kind of a talisman for the place.

They get special treatment from the visitors to "Azato".
The people share with them their food, attention, and smiles.
Not everybody likes them, and the cats can sense when to stay away.

Many times I find myself coming there... well, for them.
So if you ever in the neighborhood of "Even Gvirol" street in Tel Aviv, go to "Azato", Tell Dani I've sent you, and share a smile with them. They will make you feel at home.

This one has a great feeling. Something you can sense just by looking at these cats. The history. The present. How the upper one looks like (s)he's been through a lot but still keeps on going. Sparkle in the eye. And how curious the second one is. Peeking and yet a bit shy. Such fantastic personalities. And sounds like a place I'd like to visit. I'll try to remember that if I ever manage to travel to Israel.

I really enjoy this picture's composition, how each cat is in it's own square. Kinda like little apartments.

That's a lovely capture

Imo, taking the second cat (the one below) alone, could also be quite interesting by itself.

A fabulous photo, and a wonderful story.
This makes me want to visit Tel Aviv, at least for the salad, smiles, and kitty love.
Beautiful and heart warming.

The man who took gave those cats a little haven away from the dangers of the streets is a good man. Gandhi once said, "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."

The first cat - the personality and the history shines through so much... It looks tired, yet with that beauty that only cats can show. Which makes this more than a "cute" picture. It's telling me a story, as often with your pictures. The both cats also have their ears cut in the same way! The second one looks nosy ^^ and as if it's enjoying the attention... Nice captured of their personalities! It's a tough work with cats.

Coolios! I don't really like cats (there goes another mild phobia ) but those ones look just cute! The owner is a nice guy!

BUt now, a little bit about myself. The aleurophobia all started when I...

...I have a history of cats biting me for no apparent reason. The first one was a stray called Tigger, who has left me scarred. Literally- it makes a smiley-face shape on the back of my hand when I get freckles above it... like that, but with no teef!

But I like those cats.

the bottom shot is especially good - i know it probably hasn't been - but looks very post processed like a soft focus on the edges - i dunno - there's just something quite painterly about it - great use of available lighting.

gilad In reply to messyman [2005-11-16 10:49:17 +0000 UTC]

It's one shot, the frame is not devided.
Very little PS here. Just a little blur of the edges of the frame

LOL - sorry my mistake - i thought you'd produced a stylish graphic layout... but it turned out to be a wooden box - i guess that's what happens when i look at things before 8am. The blur on the edges really works well - draws attention to the subjects no the effects
