Shadow would be the character to think his own power would be able to contend with the gods (Think Freeza from DBS with his Golden form).
I could imagine Shad looking like this to Zeilo after he does somthing

Actually, on the Chaos Energy part, could there be trace amounts of it remaining?
Shad normally taps into it without needing an emerald in the games, and I think in TMOM if i remember correctly.
Chaos the god is still around (just his water form like we know from the games is dead after being taken over by Zeilo) so he could theoretically make more because the energy is named after him ( unless if it is an odd coincidence)
And it is stated earlier that Chaos energy kinda kept the world afloat, considering the world is still here (albeit full of soulless and way more grey colored), means that something is preventing the world from breaking apart ( the reason I assume that Chaos energy kept the world in one piece was all the chaos, no pun intended, in the beginning of the story with the ground cracking, pieces of land starting to float like angel island etc when the energy was destabilized when Zeilo arrived) and considering Zeilo's Nihilist tendencies, and language to mortals, I don't think he's the one keeping the world in one piece.
