Description Inspired by the King Crimson song

This was painted in gouache over an ink drawing (and then a bit more ink over the gouache). I'm happy with it although it somehow doesn't quite feel "mine". I think I'm so used to watercolours and their general wishy-washy-ness that having those large expanses of deep black seems wrong. It didn't scan very well but I tried to adjust the colours afterwards to get it as close as possible to the original.

I did use a reference for the kitty's face but what I ended up with is pretty far removed. Thanks to Onistocke for the photo anyway.

Thank you very much. The flowers are based on a lighter coloured variety of Clematis alpina. I love clematis!
