I am using one of these right now. Sadly the new version of Skype for Mac doesn't support custom icons, so that's all the reason I need to stay at version 5.

>go into computer
>program files
>skype
>phone
>right click skype
>send to
>Desktop (create shortcut)
>right click the new shortcut
>properties
>change icon
>go into the ICO folder of this

Yeah, of course. Did you try ? Cause skype's .exe is a special .exe containing its own icons. "Change icon" is disabled, here. So, I wonder how you other did, or maybe when. For now, it's impossible to do this that way.
