Description
Ghiath's greatest enemy was and still is a malicious beast dwelling deep beneath him. Survivors of the beast named it the Djinn due to its super-human strength, ferocity and lack of physical restraints.
The Djinn's origins are unknown, but Ghiath always thought it was the physical manifestation of a curse and a "mockery of himself". On the second note, whenever the Djinn appears, it always has Ghiath's greyish skin tone and a ruined, slivered version of Ghiath's tunic.
The Djinn, to set a permanent remainder of its existence, scarred its left eye, whose scar remained on Giath's left eye (since the two share the same body).
Ghiath's case mimics the plot of 1886's "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde", which told the story of a scientist, Henry Jekyll, who discovered a way to bring out a person's most vile alter ego. The Djinn never appeared randomly, as only certain events could summon it. Ghiath's studies concluded that events such as strong emotions, dangerous situations or negative thoughts (like jealousy) could muster the Djinn.
Eventually, Ghiath would isolate himself atop the Zagros Mountain chain in a Mosque's basement. The Djinn significantly weakened but persisted inside Ghiath's subconscious, seeing the world thru Ghiath's shadow.
