Description OH LOOK I COMPLETED SOMETHING. You know that sample earlier? Well, here it is, actually complete and there's a tiny bit of color. I'm playing with textures a little more, and it's turning out it be a lot of fun. It seems that I can ACTUALLY make them. Time it took, over a span of 2 days.

Want something like this? Commission me and we can talk some details :0

Hmm, doesn't look bad at all. I like the whole "engulfed in shadow" thing you have going on there. The shine on the hair is just enough to make a contrast without without making it too bright for the picture's theme. Speaking of contrast, the fucchia eye works quite well in that direction. Also, the way the leather clothing shines, is pretty good. One can definitely tell you were going for a shiny material.
The drawing still requires quite a bit of polishing. There isn't much I can say on anatomy here, because not much is visible. You can work on the shading here, to make the transition from light to dark smoother without "smudges", especially on the face.
...and that's the first critique I've written since what seems like last year. Wow, I've ditched this place so hard. O.o...

Anyway, keep it up! ;]

Ah yiss, i was wondering about the shading a bit. Thank you for the critique on it, now I know I wasn't wrong on questioning the shading. As for the materials-- i did work had to achieve that 'shiny' look. It certainly too a while, but hey I found what I wanted to do with it.

And yeah, I've kinda ditched this place too, but I've been meaning to return and put up more art and so on. Actually be active again to see what I can do.

You're welcome for the critique, glad it helped a tad. It's good to see you try things out, it's definitely one of the ways to improve your skills.
I've been pretty focus on university this year, so I didn't have much will and energy left to draw... but I'll be having quite a bit of free time in August, so I should be able to put more art here.

Nightingales are usually associated with nurses or singers. But hey, why not a seamstress?Β
... and a competent-looking one at that.Β

I really like how the "wet suit" (or was it leather?) look turned out here. The little bits of harsh reflection did wonders.Β

... and sure, of course you can accomplish something. Was there ever any doubt?

There is a reason why 'Seamstress' and 'Nightingale' are selected for her. She's not really a 'seamstress', it's just a certain name that's associated with her skills. But they're certainly not for the sake of being a classical seamstress. It's actually very horrible; the monstrosities she makes. :< However; if there was any word for her it would be 'competent' indeed.

The name Nightingale is her actual 'new' name that has overwrote her old one in memory. In other words there's some brainwash shenanigans goin on Β here with her. Also, she IS very prone to carrying a song or tune as she works and when she's on her own/on the hunt.Β So I guess it all works out in the end. XD

I suppose I could have named it better since most would not expect these details. ><

Thanks so much my friend- I tried my hardest to do what I could for that 'wet sheen' or 'near wet' look and I am very glad that it came out.Β As for what I said: yeah my confidence in finishing pieces is on an all time low, but when I try, I do try. ><

SO THERE'S A BIRTHDAY CREEPIN AROUND THE CORNER I SEE. Any idea's?

Oh, I know. After all, knowing you for so many years (and vice versa), you really wouldn't think I would make the fatal mistake for thinking this lady is anything less than competent in creating something out of pieces of something else. After all, they don't accuse me of being able to read minds for nothing, right?Β

The important thing about naming a character is not so much about making the "perfect" name, but more about how the characters live up to (or subvert) their given name. It annoys me when people specifically name their characters of a characteristic. I mean... what kind of parents do that? (Some do, but we all decry how horrible those names are in real life. And if they are horrible in real life, why is it accepted in fiction?)

You are more than welcome!Β
I am always going to be here to support you, especially when you're trying so very hard. It's my pleasure, and my honour.Β

Oh, yes... birthday around the corner.Β
Not sure if I had any ideas, though. I am hoping nothing bad happens at work. That counts, right?
