Description Summertime, time, time,
Child, the living’s easy.
Fish are jumping out
And the cotton, Lord,
Cotton’s high, Lord, so high.

Summertime by Janis Joplin

Real life reference I'm guessing?

I edo love Janis Joplin, that whiskey voice of hers is so very captivating. I have been in love with her music since the first time I heard it!

I love her music, and she was a very beautiful woman. While I was drawing her I was thinking also why such great people as she, do not live as a young, healthy and happy up to now? Immortal? Likewise all ppl.. I know it's naive thinking. But she is, and will be like that in memories.

Cocaine is know for its ability to eventually lead to death. She was an awsome musicain and hopefully her memory will serve as a lesson to others. It is the greatest shame that so many people who are soaring so high are seemingly destined to fall so far. By the way it is an awsome peice of work.

So good and full of details!
I've just realized that your work remained me on strip (comic). I don't know why, maybe because of hair or that specific style of skipping details
Anyway fav++

Thank you very much for teh fav valeka!
Maybe it is like you saying, maybe it is For me not all exact details like on ref pics, are required in drawing. And I'll tell you the secret, I am too blind to see them all, that's why I skip a lot

Another amazing drawing, Matthew. I really like the way you did the detail of her jewelry.

Thanks also for the link to Luis' page. I hope to use his knowledge of cars to help me identify some of the vehicles in my car show shots. He added one of my images to his faves.

That's the neat thing about DA - if you like following connections, you can find all kinds of amazing people and fascinating art. No wonder I spend so many hours on here every day, lol.

That's true. I spend so much time here looking at others art, even if I do not say a word when I like some artworks feel kind grateful towards others because of sharing art. However more I look at screen more I feel that in my eyes, as happen I work also with computers during the day.. to much time staring at screen I think.
