You are a perfect collab for me my friend xD I can't lineart to save my life xD, But as a charcoal artist extreme by choice I am pretty good at shading if I do say so myself ;w; Shading is the best and most fun part for me, I spend waaaay too much time thinking what type of shading to use though xD

Haha, right. Usually I'm pretty good at it all, I just take a long time with my shading when I'm in a serious art mood. I get so into it that I take forever on every detail on my cell shade, then have three or four more layers of different shading to do afterwards. Lol

When I get into serious art mood, I tend to be faster at drawing ;w; and since I am one with the shad- I mean, since charcoal gives me alot of practice on shading (charcoal is basically shading everything, a great charcoal artist would have OP shadow and lighting skills) so I tend to be faster at shading than anything else (I take a painfully long time to have a presentable sketch to work with, even with a regular pencil, my angles are terrible) I don't really know if my shading is any good xD but its about the same level as my drawing and colouring if speaking of digital art, and I still do shading faster ;w; I is weird.

I understand completely. Shade is the hardest part for me ; w ;

I'm sorry it's hard! Just takes practice. For me, I have a very long shading process, so it takes forever since I have one very detailed shading under another layer of shading

yeah... i dont have the patience for layers sometimes. And then i get mad when i draw on the wrong layer.

Why don't you name the layers to help you keep track?

DerianRPG In reply to GhastlyRune [2015-08-06 16:29:31 +0000 UTC]

Well I do that most of the time when its about coloring. But even with that I sometimes get clumsy and still draw or color on the wrong layer. QwQ ehehe...

I find it easier to manager a lot of the time if you name and group your layers. Also makes it more organized

hmm... I guess that's true. I have been doing that actually and I haven't really messed up. I guess im just thinking about my past mistakes now that I realize it. (also I realized I really love your OC Haru. She's adorable omg~)

Whoa... calm down missy. I have that problem too, it sucks how much you have exercise patience when shading, you just gotta divide and conquer. And you got a Wacom Cintiq UX

I know, we all have our struggles with art. That's why I made this, to relief stress and be relatable. If I was here to bitch about it, I'd have been whiny and went on a long typing tangent. But this was for fun.
I couldn't afford a Cintiq ever. Cintiq is insane to buy, no matter the model. I went for a cheap alternative.

I looked it up... it looks really nice . How much did you pay for this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GhastlyRune In reply to AvidImpressions-Art [2015-08-02 20:18:05 +0000 UTC]

$450. For the quality it is, it was remarkably inexpensive for an art monitor.

I am not a perfectionist, but when I am its with art usually. It be nice If we could all do things faster to.

GhastlyRune In reply to Crowdingfever [2015-08-01 00:21:01 +0000 UTC]

I agree. I love when I go fast, speed is my thing at everything. I love seeing how fast I can knock a task out. But when something takes too long, I hate it. Lol

Awesome, I was looking into getting a type of tablet like that. Thank you.

GhastlyRune In reply to ExaultedDraws [2015-08-01 14:06:41 +0000 UTC]

Welcome. I have found it to be an amazing Cintiq alternative. Usually monitors run for a lot of money, one my size could be $800 to $1000. However, Huion is a cheapest alternative without loosing quality. Mine was $450 and is a very nice size and quality. Huion is definitely a company worth checking out.
