Shiva is one of my dream costumes. It was an experience, at times not a pleasant one...but I'm so glad I did it. The blue is body paint, took 6 hours to put on and 3 and a half to scrub off.
I made everything myself, including the bikini bottom, shoes, and wig. I have to massively thank ~acesquad and my husband for helping with the body paint because I could not EVER have done all of it without their help (literally, I couldn't reach my back XD)
Unfortunately for this photo, I left the feather tail thing at the hotel, and my husband had to run to get it. It appears in other photos during this shoot (which was like 3 hours long x_x) but at the beginning of the photos I didn't have it.
THANK YOU to *BalthierFlare for an amazing experience at this year's Otakon - I probably would have never even tried to attempt Shiva if not for your group idea. And thanks to all my amazing fellow FFX group members as well. You guys rock!

Ich hab nur mal gegoogled ob man die Farbe in Deutschland beziehen kann. Das geht sehr gut, gibt viele Anbieter, hab aber noch keinen Ausprobiert. du solltest dir ihr Tutorial hier: [link] einmal ansehen.
Dann habe ich Pros-aide gegoogelt dann hab ich schon einiges gefunden. ^^ Ausprobieren werde ich das fΓΌrhestens nΓ€chstes Jahr, wenn ich das Geld zusammen habe.

OMG! You look AMAZING!!! How heavy was that wig? I read once in an anime magazine that is no longer printed about a girl who cosplayed Shiva about... five years ago maybe? Anyway, I think her wig was 30 lbs or something. HEAVY! DX Then again, she made hers using a lot of blue duct tape.

The wig was around 10 pounds. I've read about ones that are heavier too, with some people using creative methods to get it to stay (someone velcroed hers to her head, which sounds surpremely painful).

Props to you. Yeah, people will go to just about any lengths if they're really into cosplay. I mean, my one best friend is mega into cosplay, and if she has to be taller for a character, she WILL find a means to get taller (she's older than me, but she's also shorter XD). But Velcro-ing a wig to your head? .__. OUCHIES!!

They're fake nails...3 inches long. I hadn't even worn fake nails that long before so it was kind of annoying when I glued them on and then realized I couldn't hold anything or pick anything up anymore, so I had to have the rest of my group help me carry things and eat, which was kind of sad.

Oh thank you! That is really helpful! Eventually I want to fly to CA to go to Blizzcon and be a Night Elf from World of Warcraft, and there is NO WAY! I want the body paint to come off! This sounds like great stuff!

Me and my friend are gathering a few people to do the same, though we want ALL the aeons. I will be making Ifrit, and my friend Liane will be making Valefor. We also have a Ixion.

I fell in love with your FFVIShadow cosplay but this is absolutely gorgeous, my jaw dropped when I saw your close-up shot of that wig but what I adore the most is how you've managed to avoid wearing sandals & incorporate Shiva's nails that are so often ignored.
