Description Just a little something that I drew from graphite, and then touched up in Photoshop with a few added effects.

I was thinking on making the original drawing a tattoo design. I'll post it up into Scraps so you'll know what I'm talking about.

Hope you like my weird little butterfly. I guess you can figure out the music that inspired me

*cough* ASP *cough*

This work has depth and portrayal, along with a pleasant metallic color scheme. I can tell this was inspired by ASP's song 'Me'. Beautiful work! Though I would have preferred a background with a more metallic or less-busy side of it to give more attention to the detailed butterfly. e.deviantart.com/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />

*my first critique using this system! Go you and me!*

Due to this critique system asking for over 100 words, which seems a bit much, I must give you more praise and critique. There's nothing else I can say really, I see nothing very wrong with it at all, indeed my friend. e.deviantart.com/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />

Thank you for the critique, my good friend!
This is the first I've gotten, and so far this is pretty cool. (I'll definitely critique back next time)

The background I just got lazy with. I know I wanted something nature-like to compensate for the butterfly itself...but since I embossed the design to make it look metallic, I now know I should have made the negative space a little less attractive if I wanted to enhance the focal point.

I doubt I shall do much...it was very, very annoying it forced me to give lengthy-lengthy-stuff, and when you deal with friends or something someone like me does not like to think and nit-pick usually. *especially in so many words!*

Why? I prefer to work, and others to work, with learning from their own mistakes, not super-relying on others opinions, since that's all I get really...just 'opinions' of what I should do.

I'll have to try one to find out. I guess it's for people if they get really into "teh serioz bizness" part of constructive art comments.

I normally take people's critique in order to make my art better, and at the same time I like others opinions nonetheless. If I relied solely on what people told me to do when they critique my art (especially my comics), I'd probably lose my style all-together.

And, as you know, I'm rarely on serious bizzness.

That's what I'm afraid of when I go do art in college: their opinions will change my art.

Believe it or not, college critique is actually really helpful. That's how I was able to make those Mother & Child paintings and the Animal Weave drawing when I took AP Art last year. As long as you don't draw anime-style or hastily-drawn comic characters, and concentrate on the seven principles of design, then it'll be a piece of cake. Additionally, it'll improve the quality of your drawings by at least 60% depending on your professor.
You can still draw in your own style, but being taught the fundamentals of advanced creative methods, and using them to your advantage, makes you more of a well-rounded person.

I had a feeling...still...*whines* College in itself I'm afraid of.

It's honestly not as bad as you think. I think you'll enjoy it.

This is really pretty! I love the details on it - I wish real butterflies were this awesome.

(Also, just have to say - I LOVE the metalocalypse quote in your signature - that show is the best!)

Thankies!
It was something different for a change. I haven't had many deviations recently that concentrated on texture. Figured I'd touch up on that.

Really cool design! Somehow it reminds me both of angel wings and devil wings, but perhaps I'm just weird like that!

You hit the nail on the head my dear. That was definitely my intention for the drawing. A little bit of both good and evil
Thank you very much for your kind words.

I seriously appreciate your positive words!
