Description Another wallpaper, trying to expand in terms of techniques. Photoshop CS3, done while bored in class, ~1.5 hours. To clarify, the foreground is a photo. Not my photo. Unfortunately I can't recall where I found it, but I will post sauce when i do.

That planet has a very thin atmosphere. Or a very clear one, idk. Nice work! Scenes like this seem fun to draw.

I find that using softer, thinner glows just gives me a much sharper/more realistic effect; at least on rocky planets.

I merge a lot of layers, so I'm not sure, but somewhere between 45 and 150. Most planets take about 10-15 layers each with the amount of shading and overlayed shine I do on the edges, as well as color alteration.

This one had 57 layers after all the merges (I usually merge planet layers when I'm done with them; also a lot of glow layers.)
