Awesome! I'm looking at it right now, mesmerised by all the ribcages.
I love the way the light looks "sticky" if that makes sense

Very neat.

Very good approach to create some gigerish style. I only wish it wasn't that blurry and I think the glow effect is a little exaggerated. Good work though!

...Do you know of...the beast?

Y'know, homeworld cataclysm?

First thought.

no, I’ve only played HW2.

Fortunate then.

In short, the beast was a living biomechanical virus that subverted starships and dissolved thier crews into messy biomechanical constructs. Anything hit by 'beast plasma' became infected with the virus, turning the crew into living computer components. Not sure where it came from, but it destroyed the space-surreality image the origional HW had.

This image reminds me of what happens after the beast got to a ship. Terrible thing really.... and of course all the Taiidani ships were the ones infected. The players got to run around in funky redesigned space ships.

I'm so digging this stuff, Giger would be proud It has that same ghostly transparency feel to it, very nicely done.

I can totally concur on that. I often find CG painting rather zen like at times myself. I need to get back to my abstract work too though I'm more a Kurt Schwitters, Anselm Kiefer, Franz Klein type o guy I do love Gigr though, no question.

yeah, zen, that’s the word I was looking for
I’d really like to drop by ol’ Hans’ place for a chat some day. I’d bet it would be interesting

I'm sure it would be. He strikes me as one of those out there guys who would be beyond interesting to hear his tales of... whatever you know? Yeah, zen is often what it can be and other times it can drive me nutz (tecnical issues, etc) but overall zen. Loves the digital fingerpainting

he’s one of those people who’s personality really surprised me. I’ve seen a few interviews, and he’s a really down to earth, funny guy.
I remember him talking about getting up in the middle of the night, back when he was doing the movie stuff, and the full size Alien in his room scared him half to death XD

I don't blame him, that thig would scare the shit outta me as well if I walked in a room at night, half asleep and forgot it was there O_O;;;; He seems to be a really interesting guy, no question. I have his Giger's Alien book and his accounts of the process of working on the film were pretty cool.
