Well I tried a new style, thanks to for simply mentioning the PEN tool in PhotoShop! Whoa...it's an interesting little bugger... but I got the hang of it and churned out the linework on this punky Gen pic! Found the original pencil sketch lying on my computer somewhere so it's not really in my newer style.
I gave Gen random clothes lol! Might churn out more like this if I think of it...look out for improved linework coming soon!!

The Pen tool is such a drag thought X_X I remeber when the only program I had to use was Illustrator, and I was forced to use the pen tool, I slowly came to master it. It does have it's advantages, the lines come out oh so clean, and it looks super professional (like this here pic) but then, you have to work your brain to figure out how to bend them, what direction, etc. But your pic here is amazing, especially with working it in Photoshop, I tried it already, crap, that was a mess. But your is all @O@

Try this tutorial I was given! [link] I didn't follow it further than the 3rd step but it gives you a visual idea about what a pen tool does/looks like.
I'm not much sure, but the pen tool is pretty much like the shape tool, except you draw the shape instead of PS's presets! It's like dot-to-dot as you just click and then click somewhere else to create a shape. If you've ever used the bezier tool, it is very very similar. Hope that helps somewhat!

What do you wanna know about the pen tool? I'm no professor on it yet hehe. Pretty much I just point and clicked around a pencil line using the tool, and joined it up so it made a shape that filled itself. Makes a heckuva lot of layers but I figured you can collapse them if they are linked!
I hate layers...but I am sorta playing with them. *glares at layers* That wasn't much helpful...sorry
