Description dryads are tree nymphs.
i dont know whether it was some classic source or in the d&d universe where dryads are said to be closely linked to an individual tree - so the dryad changes along with its tree through the seasons and it even dies when its tree dies. i liked that concept and when my sister and me decided to both draw a dryad, i had this image in my mind of a young girl and a tree floating into each other.
pen and sepia ink was a nice medium for a change, and suited the intended look very well.

thanks!
putting in lots of detail usually is something i avoid ("dont spoonfeed what you can hint at" is my mantra), but in pen/ink, i tend to like using texture quite a bit. for some reason, that medium seems to do okay with what would be overkill in, say, pencil or paint. or maybe i have weird eyes

weee, thanks! also, you are very free to proceed as wished

ill need to look around whether i still have the original scan somewhere - looking at this version, it could use at least a little more resolution for both viewing pleasure and putting some color on.

Sehr schön. Ich hab eh eine Schwäche für Dryaden.
Diese Idee gefällt mir sehr gut.
Folgt da vielleicht noch eine farbige Version?

dankeschoen

thank you!
i am quite content with how it turned out, too... i just wouldnt have tree-ified her outstretched foot if i had to do it again.

its also one of those images that show me that i dont seem to have a kind of consistent "hallmark" style... *sniff*
