Description The street is called Lower Petergate and was first established by the Romans (in the 1st century), it has it;s current name due to its proximity to the York Minster which is dedicated to St. Peter.

Took this whilst on holiday in York September 11.

very nice, i like how its black and white, it gives it a gloomy, old fashioned sort of look

Yeah it's pretty old . The whole city seemed to be built on a Viking settlement which i think it gets it's name from as the Viking's called it Jorvik.

Thank you. The colour version was really washed out as it has been raining so i thought converting it might make it look better. I'm glad I did now.
