Description Drawn while away for a huge chunk of the weekend to pass some time.

I think I'm developing a fear of Photoshop/coloring in general.

Jake, Lux, and Dexter, sharing an evening together while Sara[Jake's wife] and Key share in girl talk. Dex would join them, but she feels more at home with the other pilots, sharing in their banter and engaging Lux in a game of bloody knuckles with a quarter. Dex gets to be DD for the night. Not that she really minds too much.

Setting is moreorless based off of a pub I went to awhile back, with the stucco walls and the pit full of booths bordered by counters.

It just was. More effort than I wanted to commit. At the time.

Though I'm getting back into it now.

Love the expressions and interactions among these characters! If this scene is colored, I know it would have such a vibrant atmosphere!

The details remain to be in the ever-used term when I see your work "freakin' awesome." Your use of poses and expressions are really what make your stuff enjoyable to see in the spin of flippin' through dA and I don't babble about it enough. There be some stories weighted into these characters and drawings that make me chide myself for not reading yer writing yer narratives yet (alas, o' fates of procrastination).

w00t for being complimentary while being vague.

I like the image. I love the markings on the guy that has "17th squadron" on his t-shirt. but I have two questions:

1. What is the DD (aviation wise)?

2. What is bloody knuckles?

Sorry, I'm such an ignoranus. lol.

ours is you get a quarter, and you lay your fist knuckle down, and someone else, using your pointer and mid finger as a brace, sling the coin with your thumb at their knuckles (its very hard and fast), and it causes it to rip the skin on your knuckles

We're got a slightly different version of bloody knuckles where I learned it from. Take a qurater or larger sized coin and spin it on a flat surface by holding the top of the coin lightly and then flicking the side of the coin while letting go at the top. The other player has to keep the coin turning by flicking it the edge of the coin. If one person accidently makes the coin stop spinning, or lets it spin so long that it falls flat, they have to hold out their hand with their knuckles pressed against the surface. The other person then places the coin flat on the table and tries to whip it as hard as they can into that person's knuckles.

It hurts. A lot.

can't answer your first question. (I'd have to kill you) But bloody knuckles is a game where one player spins a coin on a table, and if they are able to catch it between the index and middle finger while it is rotating, the other player places their knuckles flat on the table and the first player slides the coin flat across the table, at the less fortunate player's knuckles, usually resulting in, "bloody knuckles" [best played with a large coin (e.g. 2 shilling piece ) for maximum pain]

ouch...the old novelty £5 coins are about the same size, but since they don't get chewed up in vending machines and people's pockets, they stay sharp. Go. Have fun. Inflict pain

the 1970 silver dollars are at least half a pound in weight with a big blunt end, if you did it hard enough, you could crack a pinkie

Try traditional coloring first, is my advice. Just scan and copy some of the image, then take some color pencils or markers and go to town.

then, once you have a feel for how it behaves and the what not, crack open Photoshop xD.

If yah need a usefull tutorial i have one favorited i beleive, helped me out alot.
