Description The first pastel I've done in a long time, and something of an expression of feeling that I put down using my box of colors.
I tried to take the associated elements from each color group, and meld them together and still maintain their identities

wow, wouls you tell me what inspired this? I guess i mean, do you see/feel colors and shapes and lines as emotions or do you use them to represent an emotion? I have to say you have and very interesting gallery and I apologise for not responding sooner.

i do understand. certain thoughts come into my head, and i see them as a burst of color or the dynamics of a line. people are this way in their imprints in my head. i don't know what to call it either, which is kind of why i asked. I think the sculptures you've done and the color work you've put here say what's on your mind, because words and gestures fail to communicate that. Your photos are a (pardon the pun) snapshot of what you felt at the time, just one more part of you in the collage. I also think it's interesting how other people represent the same feeling or thought.

btw, mind if i ask what your favorite meatloaf song is? I think i've settled on original sin. although midnight at the lost and found comes close. and bat out of hell is always a classic.

hmm, inspiration/expression? errm well, I have no specific idea. Colors and shapes communicate different ideas to me, everything i see/feel/experience gets absorbed and compiled into an... identity?/no- a image, oh i dont have a word for it. Certain colors blend together, some contrast. Some shapes are *nicer/better* than others, natural curves against angles, infinite planes against abbreviated lengths. but nicer/better isnt right, everyhting has its place, its just putting it into the right place that makes things "right". if that makes any sense... and yes, my personal emotions play heavily into which colors and shapes I am putting together, my emotions are signposts on the route to developing the "rightness/placement". eventually, once my life has run its course, i hope to put together one last piece that will define it all, and it will be glorified forever as the penultimate.

ahh yeah. that was rather more than i expected to write. I hope it explains some pieces?

Cheers!

Oooooooooooo. I like it. The blue part looks like a tree to me.

Today on the way home I saw a fire burning in someone's backyard. This is quite uncommon where I live. Otherwise, I would've said this was the only fire I had seen today.

I'm glad you like the drawing, it's always nice to have someone vindicate your thoughts on your art.
and yay for fires in people's backyards. I can't say i know of anywhere where that is common, and/or, not exciting...
