Undyne, Mettaton and Sans. They're all here to save the world! which one is your favorite?and I'm really curious about one thing...why all the genocide bosses have one glowing eye? what does it mean? O_o
PS.: I know that I created this and stuff... but I'd really like to have shirts with these designs --

Sans. Sounds mainstream, but he's a lazy bastard & I love him for that. Doesn't even try to hide it, just acts like himself & he only hates you if you did something to make him feel that way, unlike the other two who just go based on history lessons & their own desires.
Undyne was the most selfless of them, she was angry about what the humans did & didn't separate you from your race, but she was doing what she did for many other reasons too, including the freedom of her people. List: hatred for humanity. sparing Asgore & you the trouble of the encounter. Feeling as though she's in control of her people's situation. Wanting to end all their suffering. Wondering how strong you are. Being able to fight again & release a lot of withheld stress & generally unpleasant emotions gained from knowledge of what the human race did to them & having to grow up trapped underground.
Mettaton just wanted further prestige and fame without even appreciating what he already had. He wanted to "save the human race" from the rest of his kind by somehow becoming popular up on the surface, which would've only delayed the inevitable & placed him in a position of resentment from his people, including his cousin Napstablook. Wanted to see something new. Wanted to be something & do something new (as always. He allowed his character to get in the way of what's most important). Wanted to convince humanity to set them free or at least make them aware of monsterkind's existence (least likely, but who am I to judge if his words do indeed specify that?).
Sans wanted to play the hero, but he took way too long because he got used to his cycle of indifference, a delayed reaction to protect all that's dear to him. Probably also for other reasons too, such as: venting out all the withheld anger & helplessness received from what he remembers of other timelines. Wanting to feel some control & be able to do something about it for once. Trying to protect you from your inevitable fate at the end of the run to keep his promise. Trying to find out as to why & how you changed. A longing to hold on to the kid he once knew to be his friend, everyone's friend. Hoping to convince you to change & bring back his brother along with everyone else you've murdered.
Well... I kinda improvised on Mettaton. His personality is like a blank piece of paper. You can see that it's a paper, but the mystery of it appearing to have nothing on it doesn't leave you with much to go by. Probably not the best analogy to use either, but oh well, my mind is just like Mettaton's personality right now in that it's externally (meaning consciously) blank. Why do I like Sans as a genocide boss when Undyne is the most selfless or Mettaton is the most selfish...?
I've always been a sucker for balance. Sans is smack in the middle in terms of all the emotions & the character presented here. He's angry, but not at you so much as what you chose to do & the many times he's had to put up with this bullcrap previously - & he's also trying to appeal to your better nature, much like Undyne. He's also doing it to bring back his brother & keep his promise, which is kinda selfish, like Mettaton.
So yeah, that's my answer.

Listen buddy, I hate to disagree with you here, but you know this picture is about a genocide route right? So I find it kind of ridiculous for you to bring up points from the neutral and pacifist routes. You know the genocide route, in which you're trying to exterminate an entire species of monsters for nothing more but enjoyment. So let's Start with Undyne shall we. What's the first text of dialogue you see when the fight with Undyne the undying happens....The Heroine appears and in case if you forgot from elementary school all of mind you what heroine means....a woman HERO...Undyne in the Genocide route is the hero and you're the villan. Hell for god sakes, the song that plays during the fight is called "Battle against a true hero". SHE EVEN SACRIFICES HER LIVE TO SAVE MONSTER KID!!! FROM YOU!!!! But hey you keep bringing up points from the Neutral and pacifist routes so let's so that shall we. The reason she tries to kill you in that route is not because of "History lesson" as you put it, it's because IT'S HER DAMN JOB, SHE'S THE CAPTAIN OF THE ROYAL GUARD FOR A REASON and as captain of the Royal guard it's her job to capture any humans that fall down, kill them, take there soul, bring it to Asgore and to break the barrier so monsters can go free. So tell me, how is that bad exactly if even in that route, she is still trying to help everyone. So let's move on to my favorite character in Undertale....Mettaton.
Ah Mettaton the star of the Underground, the "Idol everyone craves", his personality I love him for. But I will admit, when you first meet him in the PASCIFIST AND NEUTRAL RUNS...he is a bit self centered and a bit selfish, after all he's willing to kill you so he can take your soul and become even more popular and famous then he all ready is. But let me reiterate, ALL the characters in undertale have flaws but it's our job as the players to help then overcome those flaws and to become better people NOT PERSECUTE THEM FOR THEM!! After you fight Mettaton EX and he hears the phone calls, you can tell by the expressions on his face that he regrets all of it and he realizes that he took what he had for granted, remember the line "Humans already have stars and idols...but Monsters...they only have me". He realizes that what he did was wrong. But like I said....we aren't talking these routes are we....no we're talking about genocide, in the Genocide route, Mettaton tries to stop you NOT FOR FAME BUT SO HE CAN PROTECT EVERYONE ELSE WHO IS STILL ALIVE...people like Alphys and Napstablook the two most important people in his life. Remember the line "Besides there are some people...I want to protect". So tell me...HOW IS THAT SELFISH EXACTLY!? HE'S WILLING TO DIE SO HE CAN PROTECT PEOPLE, TO PROTECT HIS FRIENDS!!!! Now finally let's move onto Sans.
Sans never wanted to play a hero. He knew from the moment he encountered you in Judgement Hall...that he would die. He was just trying to stall the inevitable and to give you a "Bad time" for being a...Oh how you say "DIRTY BROTHER KILLER", you killed his damn brother and everyone else he cared about, of course he would try and stop you. I will reiterate, ALL these flaws that you keep berating Mettaton and Undyne for, they fly out the window when you do the genocide route, YOU ARE THE VILLAN, YOU ARE THE PERSON KILLING FOR FUN.....and Undyne, Mettaton and Sans.....THEY ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE TAKING A STAND TO TRY AND STOP YOU!!!! So there.....that's my rebutal.

It's okay, I'm sorry I was really heated. I wasn't I'm a good mood that day and so when I saw your comment I was kinda talking my anger out on you. You didn't deserve that. But I'm glad you realized that in the Genocide route, these three characters right here deserve the official seal of Bad Ass. Still wish my favorite character in Undertale, Mettaton could've gotten a good fight in Genocide. I was actually looking forward for him to kill me alot in his NEO form.

As for my favourite character in Undertale? I really like Alphys & Undyne. Both of them are equally my favourite. Again, I'm a sucker for balance. & they balance each other out beautifully. They also both possess flaws that many people don't tend to enjoy publicly voicing that they relate to. Which makes them even more special in my book, as people won't acknowledge it. I love picking up on things that people don't want to acknowledge, as it means that there's room for improvement after all the time it's been neglected for. c:

They're also the only canon ship that I've come to appreciate so far, which is a big deal when it comes to me, as I'm not really one who tends to ship others.

I blame the eyes on determination. Each able to change the game in a way. Undyne breaking the rules of death. Mettaton knowing how to screw up your genocide and sans knowing of the timelines and saves. Believe it or not asgore has signs of determination with his glowing eyes and his dialogue saying that he knows that he killed you multiple times

I honestly prefer Mettaton's fight in pacifist, as I prefer challenge & humour to pointlessly killing without entertaining results. I'm kinda like Flowey in that way... Eerily so. I'm not even soulless, isn't that horrible? XD

They all look so cool! imo, Undyne looks the coolest (but I always liked her undying design the best out of all the genocide/no mercy bosses)

About the glowing eyes: It has probably something to do with determination (e.g. Undyne got fed with small doses of it by Alphys)
What I noticed though: All of them die with one hit (only Undyne's second form doesn't and if Sans didn't dodge, he would die in 1 hit, too)

I agree with the glowing eyes part. It just makes a lot of sense.
As for the whole injected-with-some-determination thing, when you check Undyne the Undying, it says "Heroine reformed by her own DETERMINATION to save Earth" So I think this means that the determination completely comes from her. Which makes Undyne even more badass, as using that much determination and forming it to become more powerful must be something almost no monsters can do.
Not saying your theory is bad, in fact its very plausible. Just adding my own theory here. I'm not trying to offend you, so I'm sorry if I accidentally upset you.

It's hard to tell if Sans really does die in one hit too, as by the time you fight him, you're stats are very high. Practically everything we come across dies easily at this point.
I notice that in pacifist, when we attack Mettaton, it takes much longer to kill him. We never actually get to see Sans' HP canonically either, we only get told of his Attack & Defence. Maybe Chara figured it'd be a pointless thing to note now that you're as strong as you are.
You can hack the game & it'll say it's 1HP, but we can't really be sure unless it was placed there on purpose. I like to make sure that results are confirmed to be accurate before following through with the belief that they are correct.
So until proven otherwise, I'm gonna leave it ambiguous in my head & say that he probably has more HP. Probably. Not that he actually does, as we can only guess at this point. Like a lot of frustrating things in this game.

Well, Undyne was extremely determined to kill you for what you had done to everyone up to that point, Mettaton used his "ultimate battle form" once he realized you'd destroy everyone, and Sans figured that, with what you were about to do, there was no reason to not try.
Make of that what you will.

I've never played Genocide (I was one of the "sickos" who watched a YouTube run -- thanks Flowey), but I won't lie -- these guys' forms look awesome! I just wish Mettaton NEO had gotten as awesome a fight as the other two... it broke my heart to see him go down without a fight...

I know right?! Mettaton Neo was such a waste of a good character design! xD but I also think it was really creative to make him look so powerful and yet you could beat him with one hit xD (I laughed the first time I saw that hahaha)

That game certainly plays with your expectations, doesn't it? 
I think there's some kind of symbolic significance to having one eye obscured in this game (Mettaton and Undyne each have one eye covered in their normal forms too), but heck if I can remember what it is...
