In recent years I've spent a lot of time with the binary tool in SAI. Usually just to make silly stuff with weird backgrounds.
also its really easy to use the fill bucket when theres no anti aliasing getting in the way :u
I'm also sorta forcing myself to futz around with colors and shapes and more abstract stuff, besides exploring weird ideas.
