To be fair, the weapons Jason uses are much more frightening then a chainsaw. A chainsaw is loud and obnoxious, you can hear it from a mile away. Machetes, axes, spears, and other camp equipment are silent, you can't tell where the weilder is until the weapon is lodged deep into your abdomen. He did use a weedwacker modified with a sawblade one though. So that's close.
