Finallly got to the bottom of my problem with skinny Genesis 8 females - another case issue in the data folder - a second Female folder (with a small 'f') - the dsf files in the second one were probably being applied twice.
I've written a script to recursively check my content for duplicate folders regardless of case. Still unsure how this happened, I use the Install Manager, and it resolved case differences.

No they don't, what started out as a useful additional tool has become this flimsy unstable, unreliable and prone to being badly interferred with backbone to modern civilsation in the name of cutting costs mostly.
Same with smartphones - within ten years they've gone from a convenient additional option to modern life to being an awkward inconvenience if you don't have one.
