The sun rises over District 10, the morning of the reaping.
        I wake up fairly early and put on simple shorts and a tank top. I quickly tie my sneakers and start for the door. Some one is already there,. Ray. My 19 year old brother. "Where are you going this fine morning?" he says with sarcasim and a smirk.
"Does it matter to you?" I snap back.
"Your only fifteen Juni, you cant just walk out whenever you feel like it."
"Watch me." I reply then push him away from the door and walk down the steps of the porch and leave the Victor's Village. Ever since Ray won the Games last year he thinks he can boss me around. Being a Victor really got to his head.
         I walk to the square where I meet Liona, my best friend since 3rd grade. When she notices me she smiles and motions me over. I dont have many friends but her. Her father owns a farm. All types of animals live around there. Me and Liona have a special talent. We are fantastic with animals. We being to walk towards he farm where we met years ago.
         I was wondering around a long time ago when I was about 8. I was following a bunny I was injured. I felt the urge to help it. Soon it hopped under the fence of the Martin's farm. I tried to climb over as best I could, avoiding barbed wire at the bottom. I notices the bunny's leg was caught so i climbed down the other side carefully. Little did I know, a girl about me age was watching me from behind a haystack. She slowly walked up to me and asked what I was doing. Then I started to mumble.
"Oh I'm really sorry! There was this bunny and it got hurt. I was trying to help it but it ran under the fence! I'm really sorry!"
"It's fine. I'm not mad." the girls said.I was relived she stopped me before i went on mumbling. "What's you name?" she asked.
I said "My name is Juniper, but everyone calls me Juni." I said shyly.
"Hi Juni, I'm Liona." Then her hazel eyes smiled at me.
We both worked together to help the bunny and nurse it back to health. That's when I knew we started a long friendship.
          We've been by each other's side ever since. Before I knew it, we were at there farm. I go there almost every morning to help injured animals. Today she had an injured cat. It was her neighbor's cat that was attacked by a possom. Soon the cat's leg was bandaged up. We gave him some medicine and brought him back to the neighbor's house. Before we knew it, It was time to get ready from the reaping. Liona and I walked back to the square, said good luck to each other and went back to our houses.
