A black background is perfect for this, because all the attention goes directly to the two (lovely) ladies right there in the middle.
I'd normally say something like, since they're opposites the models should have been one boy and one girl, but here I think that there's enough contrast already, what with the long and short hair, and the smooth skin of fire, and the slivery skin of the ice girl.
And yes, full view really was a must.
