This OC was inspired by a dear friend of mine. I won't say her name though. I did feel like getting her permission before I posted a drawing of an OC inspired by her, and she was very cool with the idea thankfully. I hope she likes it !

I'm really pleased how this came out. When I thought of the pose she'd be in in the upper-left, I felt like "Man, how am I gonna draw that?", but I think it came out really well! And for once, I feel like a furry I drew doesn't have an odd-shaped head. Those of you with a keen eye may notice something different about this drawing. Yup. I didn't color it in Paint.NET! Well, everything but the background anyway. I used colored pencils for the first time! Well, first time on a deviation. This allows me to mix colors and make designs. Well, more intricate designs like the ones on her chest, tail feathers and back. Maybe in the future, I can even try real shading!

Now, I'm not usually a pop kinda guy - certainly not Nicki Minaj, but my dear nameless friend loves Nicki Minaj (as you might've noticed from the lyrics in the top-left), so in honor of my friend, I decided to listen to Nicki Minaj for the first time while drawing this. Admittedly, I actually liked some of her music! She's converted meee Dx! I now like 3 songs of her's - "Starships", "The Night is Still Young" and especially "Super Bass".

She is a phoenix, but she does not burst into flames and come back from the ashes, so I guess she's more of a phoenix-oid or whatever idk . Oh, and are you wondering what that red symbol over her name is? It's suuuper important! All of my OCs are going to have something like it. I'll explain it in a later deviation - maybe next week's.

This took me about 4 hours to draw and 2 hours to edit. It was done in mechanical pencil, colored with standard Crayola colored pencils, scanned with an HP Envy 5544 and edited in Paint.NET. And this was all done on February 3rd, 2016.

Also, is the AR Christy font getting annoying? It does seem a little hard to read, but I wanted my primary font to be something fun and AR Christy is the funnest font in Paint.NET. So if you really want a different font, feel free to say so in the comments.

Note: I did not make the music notes. I downloaded them on clipartpanda.com. Not sure if I like, need to say that for legal reasons and stuff, but not taking any chances.
