Hey, it's Friday! Have a Magic card, peoples.This piece felt like an accomplishment at the time, and for all I could nit some picks, I still feel like it holds up. It was a little victory for me, too, as this was *not* the original card description. JC let himself be persuaded that I had a better idea. Bless his soul!
I think it also made an appearance in some magazines and one of the how-to books I've been in, but I'm too lazy to go and check.

Walls are very funny cards (or rather unpleasant if they are your opponent's...) but, in my humble opinion, they tend to have rather dull ilustrations. This one, however, is full of movement. Love it ^^

I'm a great fan of your work. Amazing to see all these full-arts in a single gallery.
Especially in this piece, something strikes me:
When I read the name, Cinder Wall, I thought about Shadowmoor and the Cinders living there. The art really resembles those black skeleton, half-burning look of the Cinders. But this card is from 8th!
Was this art an example how to design the Cinders in Shadowmoor?

Now that's one wicked concept. Those huge orange mouths look like fantastic tourist spots and something eerie at the same time.

you can come up with the wildest landscapes. I really like the rock/heat contrast, this added to the rock's face-like formations make this view a very eerie one. Excellent work.

This was always one of my favorite cards (the image anyway...I usually bought the cards to look at the pictures, I never actually learned how to play!) The concept is just so great, and as usually I love your painting style.
