Description

Jack and Hubert have taken their caravan on the short ferry ride from Kozosht to Umbria—travelling over 600km through that land to reach their home country of Nairn—there to meet their young cousin Wiltander, whom they have never met.

Wiltander was born in the isolated "free state" of Felkesland, about which little is known. Felkesland is 500km from the sea, has no lakes of any size and Wiltander has never seen a body of water much bigger than a village pond. He has taken the best part of a month to make his way overland from Felkesland to Nairn (which is about as far as Paris to Lisbon) and his cousins thought it was time he saw the ocean. Being, like his cousins, an ailurid (cat-like) elf, he is understandably apprehensive...
