Pacom medium weight 9x6'' Sketch Diary (crappy paper from Walgreens)
005 and 05 Pigma Micron pens
Bic 0.7mm Mechanical Pencil (under drawing)
Dixon Ticonderoga black HB pencil
Sakura Gelly Roll white pen
Prismacolor Premier colored pencils Crimson Lake, Pink, Light Umber, white, and black
I'm surprised it took me this long to upload another dragon. I've been busy dappling in comic book stuff, but probably won't turn into an actual product... Anyway, this took me only a couple of days, and has inspired me to make a dragon bust series. For this particular dragon, I randomly choose three colors form my Premier Prismacolors. For references, I used a picture of a cat sitting and this beautiful dragonΒ
by for the pose. I also referenced alligator and crocodile photos for the scales, lizards for the mouth, goats for the horns, and komodo dragons for the lighting and eyes. I thought I was going to draw something more simple, but I couldn't help but add a bunch of details. I hoping that by inking all these scales my line work skills will improve. What a great sketch drawing. The colors are so beautifully saturated and match these wonderful dragons. Generally, the dragon has a great shape and individual horns and a really strong face. The lineart is drawn really nice clean. and the scales are so detailed. Good work.
