Animations? Heh, heck no. I won't lie, it's very possible to do animations in Poser, but the setup and rendering time is exponentially more complex and time-consuming.
If I ever I got into that side I'd probably look at Source Film Maker, but I'm honestly not super interested in animation. I feel... "satisfied" with single pieces.
At best I'd eventually try a longer form comic style narrative, but even that feels like waaay too much effort, heh.

Yeah, fluid simulation is difficult in even high-end 3D programs. It's nonexistent in Poser and SFM. SFM has various work-arounds but none are great, as you've noticed, heh.
