Description "Y’all get to put characters that aren’t even from this planet in US colours for the 4th of July, I get to dress the American-living Canadian-made characters as Polish politicians.

Brief context: I commissioned it to commemorate the anniversary of the ratification of the Constitution of 3 May 1791. It was the second modern written national constitution, right after the American one, and a continuation of reforms gradually introduced in the years before, to try and save the decaying Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Poland was gone less than five years after that, but hey, they tried.

A hundred years later, Jan Matejko, a famous Polish painter, attempted to celebrate the centenary of that event with a painting depicting the event. In the middle of it, he placed the Marshal of the Sejm, Stanisław Małachowski, holding up the Constitution and being carried by the delegates from Wielkopolska and Małopolska, Ignacy Wyssogota Zakrzewski and Aleksander Linowski.

And more than a hundred years later, I paid a Mexican artist to redraw that with May Kanker as the Marshal and her sisters as the two delegates. May the 3rd is '3. Maja' in Polish and May's called Majka in the Polish dub so it almost barely works.

You can tell that Funny started working on that in February, ‘cause they aren’t wearing face masks or anything

That's a relief. Truth be told, I was worried that people would find the historical context boring. "Blah blah blah, some things happened in Eastern Europe, who cares?"
