Managed to squeeze in something for mermay! A mama Primarina and her lil Popplio bab.
Hope the colors look alright; I really need my next computer to have good color display bc fighting between my laptop and phone for nice colors is not fun. My laptop's colors are so off, honestly...

i don't hate the poplio line, infact i LOVE Poplio itself and Primarina is pretty cool for what it is
i just feel like they could have been a bit better, like i feel like they went a bit TOO into the Mermaid/Selkie look

same here, Mermaids are interesting and Selkie are SUPER interesting
i would have went for a clown motif
would have been a little more fitting with the water balls and what not
maybe if they went that route i wouldn't hate the middle form as much as i do
another option i would have went with was a gender difference, they seem to stop doing these now (which is sad) but i feel like they could have made the males less feminine, know what i mean?

i usually hear people hating on a super cool clown based design i saw, sure it is creepy, but that's what i like about it, it is interesting to look at
not a fan o clowns too, but i do think circusΒ vibes in games and anime are usually add a lot of style
my guess is too much effort?
i know they still do the DRASTIC changes like meowstic and indeedee but i liked my gender differences more subtle like venusaur having a little gold bulb if female and meganium having longer antennas if male
in this scenario of a male Primarina, i would simply make the hair a little shorter (probably making the hair intoΒ segments instead of 3) and removed the eye lashes or something, that way it is still primarina but it's more visibly a male one
samurotte is ok, i feel like my main issue is that the jump is too much
oshewotte to duotte is easy to follow but with samurotte it feels more like a Digimon evolution

the drastic ones are fine too but they seem to be more gimmicky now, with each gender learning a specific type of move
