Pointillism is a drawing style which consists of many dots.. : [link]
This was a gift to my mother for her name day( 2004) and i tried to draw it before the flowers start to wither..
25 hours of continuous drawing, i forgot to eat launch or go to bed. Made with acrylic colours and cotton buds only!
When i finished it i looked around and the sun was rising on my window.
OMG! I forgot to sleep, i said!
Sometimes making art can be very mind absorbing don't you agree?

I really can appreciate this piece. I've done that style before for an art class way back when and it took foreeeeeever! D: It turned out lovey though. That alone should make the heartache worth it.

I know what you mean---I certainly do. Well good for you that you toughed it out and it didn't end up in a fire place. Every once and a while that's exactly what I'd like to do with some of mine. lol I'm glad I do what I have to do to get to the end.

Sometimes while doing a piece a problem will come up that's really hard to get right. I go through all this work---then I have to do this--and that---and then this again--I could scream. So, every once in awhile I get so frustrated with one--I feel like tossing it in a fire place lol But of course I do what I have to do and finish it where I'm happy.
Almost all of my deviations on da were time consuming and decisions while they are being created are constant.
I do not plan what I am going to draw/paint. As they are taking shape so many decisions are made. Which way to go--what to leave out or put in---how does it effect everything it's connected too? It's madness sometimes. They are more complicated then they even look.
So that's what I meant. All of them are posted here on DA. A few of them were nightmares---one of them was Pending. I can tell you stories about a few of them lol.
Imagine spending 120 hrs on one, and when you think it's just about finished, spend another 30/40 hrs before I can say--this is it---I'ts done
One of them was Discovery. I love it, but it took much time and attention to the utmost detail to have it all work including the 4 turns.
Mirroring came out beautiful with this piece too ,and I absolutely didn't plan that (the mirrors I mean), never do Imagine planning the mirrors I get---no way---they wouldn't come out as good as the unplanned ones. True. I have too much work and details to think about with the main painting I'm working on--no way would I also start thinking about mirroring as well!!. Like would be real madness. lol
With my style of art it just happens automatically. I've he drawn half characters off the page for 20 years---before comps were even around for most of us lol My style is drawing to the ends of the 4 sides regardless where the characters might me---sometimes half a head---foliage--body.
Maybe I should write things like this in journals instead of long comments like this on a comments page. Never did because I never wanted to sound like I'm blowing my own horn--that's just not me--and I figure who cares anyway---and,

I realize how difficult you paintings are. The variety of colors and the clarity of the shapes shows how much attention you pay to your art.
That's why i found my health with photoshop. If i make a mistake, there is always the "undo" button!

The undo button--that's funny. There's only one thing that could be more insane doing my style---doing it on a comp. Just couldn't. Couldn't see them the way I do now. Would lose the traditional aliveness. I don't think my style would work as comp art. Know what I mean?
Blowing my own saxaphone? Nooo. Really. Was just explaining to a fellow artist the real deal with these--that's all.
I'll be posting a black and white this week probably---talk about insane!! My goodness--I want it to end already, but I see this, and that, and go over things 100 times lol.

Oh wow. It's so strange and lovely how the blue background almost looks metallic, or is that just me. Amzing work, I can understand why it took you so long with all the dots. I stay up quite late but I don't think I've ever seen the sun rise ... yet!

I tried to do a handmade gradient thats why it looks to you like metal! 
There is a commercial that says: greeks go to sleep early.. in the morning!

With the lighter dots at the top as well, it kinda gives that look ... as you say because of the gradient. I like the effect it has.
