Description
Simon Belmont (C) Konami. Hero of Castlevania, Castlevania II, Super Castlevania IV and others. This is a bit of a mishmash between several designs, and ignoring the Castlevania Chronicles look entirely, of which I disapprove.Tried a new colouring technique for this one. The results please me. A bit more practice and I will hopefully be putting out some much better artwork!

I've just worked on a Captain N follow-up comic for Nintendo Force where I dressed Captain N style Simon in the weird gimp clothes he wears these days. A disturbing visual gag

It's not hard to imagine since he's halfway (at least) there. Sigh... A shame really since I do like Ayami Kojima's work otherwise.

Although back in those days it wasn't uncommon for official art and the in-game sprite to have NO similarities to each other. I'm always jumping between preferring official art over sprites and vice versa

Very nice! Always loved Simon most of all the Belmonts. Though I think his Chronicles design is a bit ridiculous, it's not terrible imo. Better than his (Or everyone else's!) Judgment one.

Why thank ye Wildcat! The outfit here was from a piece of official artwork (recoloured to his NES orange/brown scheme), but I can't find out what game that artwork was for. There's an action figure floating around with a different "classic" outfit, but I didn't like its face.

NICE! As a long-time "Castlevania" fan myself, (probably one of my favorite third-party franchises) I approve of this piece. I like how you blended several of his designs & different looks together here.
(Sense they change Simon's look all the time.) I also like how simularly to your "Contra" piece, you made the face more realistic, but the body, and such all chibi, and cartoony. It's a nice design.

You'll be pleased to know, this look seems to be bearing fruit. I've got a few more Konami characters lined up, and who knows - perhaps I'll do some other big name publishers
