Description     "Jazzpur, wait!" cried the pink Wyngro as her sister quickly ran out into the corridor and making a dash for the back door, the sound of the downpour pounding on the ground and roof becoming louder as the door was open. Rosette ran after her beloved sister, screeching to a halt at the corner before continuing onward in her sister's path. The door was still a crack open, having not been fully closed, making for a quicker chase for the amber-colored biped. In that short moment she had forgotten about the gloom of the air around her, taking her by a bit of a surprise once stepping outside.

She looked up, feeling several drops of water hit her nose, and she stood. Her eyes blinked as rain ran down her face and into her eyes, only irritating them a small bit. Her typical curled hair had began to flow loosely, the moisture seeping through the strands and causing the rose-colored hair to become straighter, more slick. Rosette shook her head to remind herself what she had come out here to do, her drenched locks spraying water as they dried momentarily from the shaking. She looked back towards where her sister had gone, and walking calmly now towards Jazzpur. Holding out a hand, she thought to herself. I remember... when we were very very little... we used to go out into rain like this, we played in the puddles for minutes that felt much too quick. Dia would sometimes come with us, watch us play before things fell apart. It was simpler when we were children.

Rosette rounded the corner slowly, hand on the stone-carved wall that slid easily across the glossed surface. Jazzpur sobbed audibly, the sound still alarming to Rosette and causing her ears to droop.

    "Jazzpur..."

Her sister's ears moved, but she did not turn to face her older sibling. Rosette moved closer, next to Jazzpur, and gently sat in a posture that mirrored that of the one next to her. Tail curled downwards over the stone edge, feet dangling over the forming pool of water below. Rosette didn't hesitate to wait for Jazzpur to speak, and placed a hand on her upper back. Neither said a word, leaving for an unnerving silence under the dimming light of the oil lamp atop the lamp post. Tears were still flowing down the face of the younger Wyngro, mixing with the rain, and all eventually collecting underneath her nose and dripping into the puddle.

She then spoke. "I n-never-- I never get to s-see him-- see him grow and play. I-" Jazzpur's voice then cut off with another sob, Rosette gently rubbing her back and trying to comfort her, even though they both knew very well that it would not be anything easy to recover from, if at all.

"I know," Rosette spoke in accordance, droplets of tears pricked the corners of her eyes. "I know." The pair sat on the ledge for moments, minutes; maybe even hours, it could seem. They sat there, arms around each other, and listening to the pitter-patter of the rain upon the ground, desperate to enjoy the smell of the damp earth around them, musky and calm.

Maaaan talk about comfort zones! I wanted to try and make something a bit more contrasting in colors to many of my other pictures, and tried some darker, more dull tones to try and set a mood! I'm really happy with how it turned out, especially with the added affect of the rain, lamp light, and the shinier hair 'D In the story itself I was originally going to tie it to the previous story-related picture, but ultimately decided to keep it a bit more ambiguous as to when things are for simplicity as well as for the sake of the story, as it simply felt a bit out of place to tie it in.

Wasn't any problem~! 'D It felt really nice to work with darker, dull colors instead of my usual bright pastels. Plus I had a lot of fun with Jazzpur's hair in particular and how it'd flow in the rain <3

Thanks! I'm really proud of how it, and I'm super glad to have tested a few of the effects such as the different rain layers and such~!
