Meet Imelda! Probably the most refined wolf in the northern hemisphere, she's both accommodating and incredibly demanding. Her darling will diffuse any anger you might develop against her (or she hopes so).She's based off (like Nadina, though Nadi was much more loosly based) off a cool wolf I found:

The wolf you used as the inspiration for Imelda is named Dharma -- Hi, my name is Kristin, and I am the photographer of www.inspirewithnature.com I knew Dharma as a little pup, too, and every time I visited Wolf Park she was one of the most striking (and charming) wolves I have had the pleasure to interact with. Oh, wonderful! A friend of mine said it might be her too! I'm so glad to know who she is! I found the picture of her in water a few months ago and always wondered if I could find more pictures of her. I never thought I'd be able to find out who she is though! I can't wait to see more of her!

I'm not sure whether you knew this or not, but Dharma passed away in 2014. I took her untimely death very hard, as I had known her as a small pup, and I had a wonderful visit with her approximately 10 weeks before she passed away. There will be more photos of Dharma (and other wolves to come).....it may just take a bit of time. I appreciate your patience, and your interest in Dharma. You would've loved to meet her in person -- she was an amazing wolf. If you ever have the time, I definitely recommend a visit to Wolf Park. The best times to visit are in the late Fall and Winter months (fewer people then); the wolves have beautiful, thick coats then and the cooler weather tends to make them more active compared to the Summer months.

That's so sad to hear! I would love to visit the park during those times but unfortunately I'm pretty far away and at that time I'll be in school!
I do hear that Dharma had a daughter, Fiona, right? She's a little darker?

You are correct, Fiona is Dharma's daughter. Fiona used to be much darker, although as she has aged she is beginning to take on Dharma's coloring.....with the exception of her eyes. Dharma had rich amber eyes, while Fiona has a golden yellow. Fiona is also MUCH more shy than Dharma was -- I am hoping when I visit Wolf Park again to get Fiona to "open up" a bit. Sometimes I think Fiona is a bit more reserved because her brothers -- specifically Kanti -- can be a bit boisterous. They are gorgeous wolves, and I can only hope someday I can share a similarly strong bond with Fiona, Kanti and Bicho as I had with Dharma.

Every time I've visited Wolf Park, it is always interesting to witness the memory retention the various wolves have in regard to certain visitors. The last time I visited the park, there was a fairly large group of photo shoot participants.....but Dharma knew exactly where I was in the group, and made sure she found me and came over for a "tummy rub". She literally picked her way through the other participants and came straight to me. Her children -- Kanti, Bicho, and Fiona -- recognize me, but we haven't formed that bond yet. I have found over the years of visiting, that the wolves have a sense of people who "get them" and respect them. I've never had any difficulty bonding with the wolves, and I hope on future visits to convince Fiona, Kanti, and Bicho that I'm one of THOSE humans that are OK.....a human who truly loves wolves.

Aww thank you! ^^ I actually found out that this isn't Fiona, I looked up Wolfpark Indiana Fiona and it gave me an all-black wolf hehe. I could probably still use that wolf for her mother for the origins meme eventually though ^^
