he was not tame, but easy to care for... we had a big aaquarium, and a huge dish of water for him to play in, with a fogger in it, so it was pretty awesome. he was a nice guy, i only had him about 3 years and he died... i dont know how old he was when we got him, though he was matured... i had a small female as well, i put a half doz. crickets in her tank when i left for a weekend, and came back to find they ate her!!!

Actually Rowling took the idea from Celtic myth, but she completely did them off model from classic mythology.
