Description Photoshop CS5.5

An illustration reimagining three 500-year-old remarkably preserved mummies discovered at Mount Llullaillaco on the border of Chile and Argentina in 1999. They are famously referred to as La Doncella ('The Maiden'), La Niña Del Rayo ('Lightning Girl') and El Niño ('Little Boy').
Selected to participate in an Incan ritual rite known as capacocha, they would have been treated like deities before dying
in their sleep from a mixture of intoxication and the frigid altitude of the volcano. In this painting I have chosen to depict
the children dancing and revelling in the traditional music of the Peruvian pan flute--enjoying their youth in all its bittersweet fullness.

Your art is beautiful and I REALLY love it though the sad story behind it remind us that those children are gone, deities or not they were kids first of all... sad.
I do really love my peruvian ancesters and those rituals maybe are creepy now you know? Nonetheless, is really nice to have artists as YOU to recreate some of those events through amazing pieces of art. Congrats!! and now I am gonna share your amazing piece of art through social networks! : )
hugs from Argentina!

Its definitely a fascinating part of the culture and history in that region. Thank you for acknowledging my efforts to bring attention to the Inca and these child victims. Your critique means a lot considering that you share their ancestry! Researching and painting the children of Llullaillaco was heartwrenching for me at times. I would like to believe that I am doing justice by them and many others in retelling their remarkable stories. Thank you for sharing the piece on your social networks! I hope more people get to enjoy it
