Since this is in MMA, I'm going to assume that you want a critique.

Your rendering is very accurate, that is, it's a very realistic-looking drawing of a fish. Pretty impressive, actually.

I think that the next step is to gain more control in the thickness and variety of your lines. You have pretty even, thick lines for most of the drawing. You can use thinner lines to suggest places where light is hitting (or even breaks in the line) and thicker lines to suggest shadow. Sorry, this is a little hard to explain in writing. Your lines also tend to wobble, not going all in the same direction. This is especially apparent in the fins, so I think that you need some more practice with hatching and crosshatching. Thinking of something to do to make the fish pop off the page a bit would be good, too - a little shading behind it could help, or a thin wash of ink or watercolor.

But this is all technique. Your eye is excellent; it looks just like a betta. Nice work!

Thank you a lot for the comment/critique! This is very important to me, because I really want to improve my art.

I'll practice more my lines and my hand.
I usually shade the ground, but a fish hasn't ground to stay, so I decided do nothing. Your idea for some little shading behind the fish is very good, I'll start doing that with all my works.

Yeah, sometimes it's tough to figure out what to do for a background (a fish is obviously in water, like you said) but I think that it's important for completing a drawing. Good luck with your work! ^^

here i go:

i love the style that this is done in, hatching or etching is something that i wish i was better at. i have to say that over all this is very well rendered. the hatching is well placed and shaded. the subject is slightly too centered on the page. although since it was drawn i'm not complaining. i find that the thick line you used for the edge of the fish is jarring considering the style of the rest of the fish. you might try not having a line for the outside. and create a hatching shade for the edge so you have a better style. and the piece as a whole will be happier. your doing great, i see you have thought out the piece as a whole for the most part. but those few things right now are the obvious choices.

Thank you a lot for the comment/critisize, I've never thought about the line for the outside, that's an excelent point and I'll work to eliminate that old habit.
Concerning the centralization, that's because this work hasn't really planed, but I'll pay more attention to it.

I love bettas too! ^__^ And this one looks cute! Though I thought it looked a bit overweight for some reason, but fat fish is cuter x3
