With the hair, there's no need to make the hair jagged at the sides. You fav'd my work of Mion Sonozaki. See how I made her hair straight as it goes down?
I drew a similar picture the other day. When the hair is going down, make the straight with no curls coming off, then down the bottom put the strands of hair.
Sorry if it's confusing, but I used to do the same as you with hair, but it looks much better if you do it that way :3
