I am scouting for work for my Lost Book Club and Museum , and I think this piece would be a good fit. I wonder if you would grant us permission to post it in the club gallery for the amazement and edification of our small but growing audience. I thank you for considering this request.
Best Regards,
James Koehnline

I am particularly fond on the photograph of the book standing up and spreading it's pages as if to have a look about.

AHH! This is SO deliciously HANDMADE! I love handmade books! I make them sometimes too. And I know one day they'll be awesome as yours. ^_^
Can I ask you?... What do YOU think of your work? Why do you do it? Why did you start?
Have a prolific new year!

thank you! and i'm sure they will be very good indeed!
what do i think of my work? overall i think that there is so much more i need to explore and that i may never get to even half of it, but i do what i do because i need to keep trying anyway. i started because i had to get something out of my system. [i guess - it was a long time ago, who really knows.] how about you?

U-Army In reply to fredfree [2008-01-06 20:16:35 +0000 UTC]
Regarding my artwork: I do it because it's the one true connection to myself. When I create, I am overcome with this feeling of POWER. It completely cancels out any and all hurt I've encountered that day.
I also wanted to know: I'd love more than anything to own a few of your pieces. How do you feel about trading? And ..on your site: are the books for sale originals? Do you take PayPal? (The stuff on my site is a bad representation of what I can do. That stuff is from sketchbooks. And its from last year anyway.)

fredfree In reply to U-Army [2008-01-11 01:59:27 +0000 UTC]
cool - and i totally get the whole one true connection with yourself part. it's a good feeling.
thank you very much. i don't have anything to trade right now, but might be able to do something like that in the future with a small card or tag piece. the e5-5e booklets on my site are 5 of a kinds - or what's left of the 5 that were made for each project. i don't have paypal unfortunately. someday hopefully. meanwhile, people just send me checks or even cash. let me know if you're interested in any and we can probably work something out. and thanks again!
