Being new to collage work I would like to hear how you approach your creations. For instance am going in with a idea of some sorts and using random materials and just seeing what happens. Would like to hear your thoughts whenever you have time.

sure thing. not always the same way of course. sometimes there's an idea to start with, but often it's just something i've found or heard or seen that triggers the start of a piece. after that it's usually a random road trip kind of experience where i let one turn influence the next. having little to no plan allows me to explore instead of know. once i start knowing what i'm doing and where i'm going, then i'm done. i try to stop the process before i get to that point though. hope that helps. happy motoring. ff

Thanks for sharing. Its nice to hear how one approaches this. Being new to collage its like and is starting over in someways with the creations which I really like. Objects are the greatest things and finding them is probably my fav. part of the process. Am always looking around at me feet for the next chapter. Thanks for sharing.

Nice tape transfer. Cool background layers. Love the use of the magnetic photo album page as a base--those things are so acidic they eat through photos. Love the thin red line, the text snips. And the cardigan. Mostly, love the way you have made it all come together seamlessly. Wish I could fave a few more times!

I remember those sleeves. My mom used to have albums and albums with those sleeves with pictures of me and her in them. I believe she still has them but the albums are falling apart...

i'm sure they are. they were really bad for holding photos - either everything fell out or they got stuck in there forever.

i did a series of collages in old photo albums awhile ago, i love the texture and the old feel of memories with new images.
this is beautiful, has a nice delicate sensitivity to its construction. having it in the old photo album heightens this for me
