This was a Cake that I made for my little sister. Her boyfriends birthday was coming up and she wanted to make him sushi. We didn't have time to buy all the ingredients so I suggested we make a cake. First we thought we'd just make one big circle sushi cake.

But then I came up with this idea and it is REALLY easy and makes it easier to share with other people.

You can do this two ways:
1. You can make cupcakes and cut them in half to get the circular shape and then decorate. The only downfall is that the shape won't be the same.

2. (and this is how we did it) Bake a simple rectangle cake (I always use a lot of spray or Crisco on the pan so that the cake comes off easily) and you take a cup and use it as a cookie cutter. (you probably could cut the circles with a knife if you're comfortable with that if the cake gets stuck in the cup stick a knife on the side of the cake in the cup and pry it out gently. The other downfall to this is that your edges aren't smooth and the icing tends to blend a little with the cake crumbs :/
