I had to do a write up about the concept of this painting so I'll just paste it here:

"This Chaos painting portrays the polar opposite themes of life and death. Death being represented by the grim reaper, and life being represented by the flower. Of course, there are other aspects tot the painting; like the suspended islands. The top is grey, barren, and made of stone; while out of the bottom come these live moving tentacles. It’s a contrast of life and death in one existing object (also notice the one eye lain into the stone on the side of the island). Another contrast would be the ground. Like the other islands it is barren and rocky, and yet this flower grew; life conquers death. I do have another pair of opposites that is more of an undertone; light and darkness. I literally painted a ‘sun’ flower, with the flower giving off light into this realm of darkness and chaos."

In my advanced 2D art class we did a chaos or surreal paiting that revolved around two polar opposites. My class has only five people in it (me being the only girl) so these were some other pairings: organic and inorganic, fantasy and reality, order and chaos, history and future. The paintings turned out really well. I almost put this in the surreal cataogory... but thought against it.

The digital picture I took ended up really crappy, I usually take mulitple pictures and this was the best one. You cannot see the color in the background at all, so hopefully I will get a better picture up soon.

The shading was possibly the hardest part of the painiting, and I still messed it up a little, I had to get in on a deadline. The tentacles of the background islands aren't shaded and don't fit with the rest of the picture anymore. The red stands out too much, so it's perspective is lost. It looks more like a creature hovering now than an island far far away in the background. Overall though, it's the best I've done with paint of any kind... ever. So I'm pround of it for that.

I used acrylic paint because that's what I was limited to, and it's a bitch to work with. It's really thick and dries FAST! So with what limitations I had, I did good. Got a 95/100. That's an A, yay me.

"Hey, my doctor is coming here, if you don't mind, so try to make sure any of your ritualistic BS is put away and what not." Seto said as he flipped his phone shut, coming back into the room.
"Seto, we're Egyptians, not Satan worshippers." I rolled my eyes.
"Just making it clear, and with Marik, you can never be too sure."
"I resent that! I prefer the term 'anti-god confederate' thank you very much."
"It's not God's fault he hates you."
"Damn it pharaoh! Who's side are you on!"
"Depends on if we're thinking two dimensional sides, or three. Because if we're going three I'll side with the Oompha Loomphas...You can never go wrong with Orange colored people." He replied. He's getting better at his sarcasm I think. I really couldn't help but laugh actually.
"And really Marik, it's not your fault that god was stressed that day. If Gabriel had filed the tax returns like he was supposed to then he wouldn't have taken out of you when he struck you with lighting and forced your hair like that." Wow! Brownie points to Seto for that one!
